🗺️ The Roadmap

Here is what is currently in the works and what is planned for the future:

  • Create a Help/Guide Page: A central place with listed services and direct links to their cancellation pages (sourced from their official help docs). Potentially list reputable alternatives to each.
    • Need to make it alphabetical or more sanely laid out. Possible opensource/crowdsource?
  • Accessibility Pass From the beginning it is obvious the need to take accessibility into account where the design and layout does not lend itself greatly. A full accessibility pass is needed as well as setting accessibility standards going forward.
  • Optimize Stat Calculations: Stats are calculated live at every visit but need to be ran independently. A separate service for handling statistics is needed.
  • Layout Improvements: Iterating on the design to find a better layout.
  • “Why It Matters” Content: clearer copy with appropriate calls to action.
    • Another pass is needed still to clean up, and potentially move some content to blog/indivdual pages.
  • Project Blog: (You are here!) Provide deeper context for the cause, potentially with contributions from the community (PLEASE HELP!).
  • One-Time Email Summary: An optional feature to send users a thank you email with reminders of their committed cancellations and help links to do so (NOT a subscription), and must obliterate the contact information).
  • Metrics Digest: A regular summary of impact stats posted to the blog/social channels.
  • ▶️ Public Stats Page: Making the current protected stats page public.
  • New Admin Dashboard: A more robust dashboard for moderation and interacting with data safely.
  • ▶️ RSS Feeds: For stats or ticker contents to allow for integrations and social posts.
  • Public API: To access core stats programmatically.
  • Profanity Filtering: Automating moderation for messages.
  • Roadmap Page: A dedicated place to track this progress (here we are).
  • ▶️ Contact Form: Replacing the current Bluesky-only contact method with a direct form.
  • Open Source: Because open source is baller.
  • Translations Under the hood native content translations are already supported, but the skills are lacking for accurate translations. This potentially can be supported through contributions.
  • Social Sharing: Tools to share impact visually.
  • Art & Graphics: Sourcing better visuals, potentially from contributors (PLEASE HELP!).
  • Flyers: Printable materials for real-world distribution.
  • Navigation Between Campaigns: Under the hood, Fiscal Disobedience is designed to support multiple campaigns. At a later date, concurrent campaigns may be ran, or campaign-specific sites can be created.
